Prices

I understand that price is certainly a factor when choosing a psychotherapist. I also understand the desire to calculate the cost of a session in advance and determine whether you can afford regular therapy. This page lists my session rates and the terms of service. It is important to me that you know exactly what you are agreeing to before booking an appointment.

How much does a consultation with a psychologist from Ukraine cost?

There is no single standard price. The cost depends on the specialist—their training and experience—as well as the duration of the session and the format of the work. Therefore, when comparing prices, it is useful to look beyond the figure itself and consider what lies behind it: the length of the consultation, whether it is an individual or group session, and the currency in which the fee is quoted. Personally, I am convinced that the price is influenced by more than just the psychotherapist’s formal education; I believe that experience matters far more.

How do you calculate the cost of psychotherapy?

The price of a single consultation is only part of the picture. When it comes to ongoing work, you naturally want to know the monthly cost. For instance, with weekly meetings, there will typically be four or five sessions in a month.

It is worth discussing the frequency of sessions and the terms of the work before therapy begins. It is difficult to determine the exact total cost of the entire process in advance, as the number of sessions depends on the specific needs and how the work unfolds.

How do you choose a psychologist when prices vary?

Cost helps you determine whether therapy fits your budget. However, the price alone does not answer the question of whether a particular specialist is the right fit for you. What matters is their education, their experience dealing with the specific issues you are facing, and how you feel when talking to them.

For Ukrainians living abroad, choosing a psychologist from Ukraine may also stem from a desire to speak their native language without having to re-explain the context of their lives. I believe that financial matters can also be discussed openly—you can clarify the cost, ask about terms, and speak about your financial constraints. It is entirely appropriate to raise these questions when booking your first session.
