My name is Natasha Kohan

I am a certified Gestalt psychotherapist with over 10 years of practice. I work online with clients from Ukraine, England, Germany, France, and other countries.
But before becoming a therapist, I experienced many of the same experiences my clients now bring to me. I’m a mother of two, a widow, and an entrepreneur. I know what it’s like to lose a loved one, to move to a new country, to find yourself anew after your life has fallen apart.
That’s why I’m not just an education specialist. I’m someone who understands from the inside.
In my work, I use a Gestalt approach—it’s about honesty, connection, and the present moment. It’s not “advice” or “childhood analysis for analysis.” It’s a lively dialogue in which we work together to understand what’s happening, why, and what to do about it.
My key topics:

  • if you feel like you’re suppressing more than you’re allowing
  • if you’ve always been a good girl/boy and are very tired of this role
  • If your parent (dad or mom) was an alcoholic, you should contact me.
  • If you’ve lost someone close and dear and are faced with the question “what’s the point now?” – come to me.
  • If you have a feeling that you have lost everything in life and that nothing will ever happen, come to me.
  • If you are tired of participating in a masquerade where everyone wears masks and plays roles, come
  • If you have little money and want more, come to me.
  • If your child is diagnosed with ADHD, definitely come to me.
  • If you are at a crossroads in life and need to choose the “right” direction – come
  • If you used to enjoy a lot of things, but now I can’t even remember when – that’s for me
  • If you have a four-year dilemma, at home or in exile, come to me
  • If you have experience of living under occupation and feel like you don’t belong anywhere, come to me
  • If you don’t trust men, come
  • If you are a man, then come even more so.

And especially come if you’re an entrepreneur—my entrepreneurial side has been with me for over 25 years, since I started my first business. [More about me →]

How we will work

What does working with me look like? Working with me can consist of the following 4 steps:

  • Step 1: Write or fill out the form (you can find it below). Please indicate a convenient time and briefly describe what you’d like to bring. No long questionnaires.
  • Step 2 – First meeting. This is an introduction. You tell me your story, I listen and ask questions. No pressure, no obligations.
  • Step 3 – Discuss the plan. After the first session, we’ll figure out if we’re a good fit, where to start, and how often to meet (I always recommend meeting once a week, but some of my clients come twice a month).
  • Step 4 – Regular work. Even if we meet less than once a week, and even more so if we meet every week, it’s crucial to maintain regular meetings. Each meeting is a step closer to you. I work with clients in different time zones.

    Why Gestalt therapy?

Gestalt is an approach that puts you at the center – your feelings, your experience, your pace.
There are no right or wrong answers here. There are no “to-do” tasks or lists to be corrected. There is a lively, warm dialogue between two people. And gradually, clarity emerges from this dialogue.
    Gestalt is especially effective for:

    • chronic anxiety and emotional exhaustion
    • psychosomatic symptoms – difficulties in relationships and separation
    • identity crises, including those in emigration and searching for oneself after major changes in life

    Video about psychotherapy

    Welcome to my YouTube channel

The best way to understand if you’re ready for therapy (especially long-term therapy) is with a therapist you only see as a static image. It’s important to hear their voice, see their facial expressions, their movements, what they say, how they speak, and how they reason—all of this is crucial in the initial stages. Through my videos, I express my thoughts and share my experiences—this way, you can get to know me better during the initial stages or learn something valuable about psychotherapy and psychology.

    Articles on psychology and psychotherapy

I share useful techniques and ideas

Some of us are visual learners who enjoy watching videos, while others love reading. For those who haven’t yet lost this valuable reading skill, who still prefer reading and seek texts that aren’t just useful, but also speak from the depths of the soul and offer practical insights, welcome to my blog, where I regularly write about psychology and psychotherapy.

    Frequently asked questions

    How long does psychotherapy last?

Everything is very individual. Much depends on the client and their desire to work toward change. But among Gestalt therapists, there’s a common calculus: the number of months of therapy will depend on how old you were when you first started seeing a psychologist. If you started seeing a psychologist at age 36, that means you’ll need about three years (36 months) of therapy.

What method do you work in?

I am a Gestalt psychotherapist. I wholeheartedly love this approach for its humanity, warmth, trust, and growth. I am familiar with CBT, art therapy, aggression management, and transactional analysis techniques.

Which is better – individual or group therapy?

These are fundamentally different types of therapy. Individual therapy is long-term; it’s about your inner world and your values. In group therapy, you can observe how you manage (or don’t manage) to build relationships with others and be around them. You can notice how you manage your expectations of others, and observing how others in the group experience gives you the feeling that you’re not alone—because we all have more or less similar problems, we just don’t talk about them out loud.

    Do you have personal therapy?

Even though I’m an experienced psychotherapist, I attend private therapy. However, I would emphasize supervision—both individual and group—it gives me the support and stability to be a psychotherapist.

    Did you study a lot?

I studied for six years. And I continue to do so. Psychology is such a comprehensive and yet young science that we’ll definitely have decades of innovation to discover. Plus, I love delving into topics and digging deep.

    Do you work with children?

I don’t work with children. As a mother of two, I believe the primary responsibility lies with the parents. I would recommend that parents attend therapy, and the children choose accordingly. This is purely my opinion. There’s a video on my YouTube channel where I talk about my son’s experience with psychotherapy.

Is it possible to just come and “talk” without a specific request?

Yes. Sometimes people come with the feeling that “something’s wrong, but I don’t know what.” That’s absolutely sufficient reason for a first meeting.

    Are there any social places?

Yes, I always have one or two spots available at a reduced price. Contact me – we’ll discuss it individually.
